Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network Post Adoption Blog
Hi, my name is Griffy. I was adopted by this very COOL couple on Sunday. Their older Cairn had passed away and they were very lonely for another and they saw me and they couldn't resist. I was named Topeka and I much prefer GRIFFY to that. My long, long name is McGriffin-O'Malley-McTavish-Malone. I like to be called just plain Griffy. I lived with my foster parents in Washington, DC. That city is very, very busy and I like it here in Ann Arbor, MI better because we live in the, oh ahwt's that called, oh yes, the suburbs but they have soooo many interesting things here. There is this placed she calls the golf course it is sooo big and the grass is soooo green. We have a great big oak tree. Mom calls the oak tree, "Mr. Oak Tree." There are soo many interesting other things here. Mom calls these things wildlife, but I don't think they are wild, they just do their own things. We have Mr. and Mrs. Mallard duck in the yard in the morning and at night they like to eat the birdseed. I was scared of them the first night but in the morning I got braver and I wanted the yard to myself and I tried to run them off. There are new neighbors and I like them a lot, I even recognize where they live and I have been here, at what Mom says is my "forever home." I have seen the Canadian geese and the one lady goose is sitting on her nest and the squirrels love Mr. Oak Tree. Now Mom says that the 4 lady dogs in the cul-de-sac are going to be my harem, because their Colonel Potter doggie that died he was their leader so I know I have to fill his shoes. I met Spice, she is a Wheaten Terrier and she is bigger than me and Lizzie next door is a Yorkie/Pom mix and she is even more shy than me and Mom says she has lived there over a year. She barked at me. I hope that she will warm up to me. Mom says, "all the ladies will love you." All the neighbors welcomed me the evening I got home and I was overwhelmed that this many people even knew about my arrival. We have a pond too. We have ducks and geese and these big white things called swans. The fishies, they jump and splash the water. We don't get near the pond, Mom says, we just can look and I love the trees, so many trees to leave my messages at and Mom said we will have to read our mail everyday to see what visitors we've had around the yards. Well, gotta go Mom's going to take me on another walk. Talk Later, Griffy Nevel
